Describe your research project in a few lines.
My research aims to better understand the links between childhood abuse, sexual desire, and sexual distress in adult couples. Among other things, I am examining the effects of childhood abuse on fluctuations in sexual desire and distress in everyday life, as well as the mediating role of touch aversion in these associations.
Can you share with us a memorable moment or experience from your academic journey?
I’d say it’s both the friendships I’ve built through the program and my clinical internship experiences.
What is the most challenging aspect of your research or studies, and how do you overcome it?
I think the hardest part is finding a balance between my PhD life and my personal life, because there’s always work to be done. So, it’s important to take time for yourself, to rest, and do things you enjoy. In my case, that means working out, seeing friends, reading, and cooking. It’s definitely a learning process!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love seeing my friends, spending time with my pets and my boyfriend, reading, and working out.
